Animal Control

Pennsauken's animal control officer maintains public safety in the Township by enforcing animal licensing laws and humane care regulations.

Pennsauken residents with animal control issues involving domestic animals such as dogs and cats can contact the town’s non-emergency dispatch number at (856) 663-1234. From there, either an officer from the Pennsauken Township Police Department or a member of New Jersey Animal Control will be brought in to assist. Matters dealing with wildlife, such as raccoons, squirrels, etc., are not part of the contracted service.

Please note: All stray animals being transported to the animal shelter must be handled through New Jersey Animal Control, all public drop offs have been suspended. Only residents surrendering their own pets should personally transport an animal to the shelter.
