Overview

The Zoning Department reviews and issues zoning permit approvals for proposed structures and improvements, as well as land uses and certificate of occupancies. The zoning department follows the Township Zoning regulations. 

Zoning Regulations

Zoning regulations guide the appropriate use and development of land by designating zoning districts - such as residential, business and industrial - where specific uses, structures, and design requirements are identified.   

Planning & Zoning Boards

The administration of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment is the responsibility of the Planning & Zoning Department.

Examples include, but are not limited to:
  • Concrete/Asphalt/Stones
  • Fences
  • Signs
  • Sheds (under 200 ft)
A Tree Removal Permit is required for any person desiring to remove a tree with trunk 6" or greater in diameter.


* Please be advised that an application for a zoning permit may require an appearance at either the Planning Board or Zoning Board of Adjustment, if any variances are needed and or property setbacks are not met. If this is found to be the case you will be notified by the Planning & Zoning Office after your application has been reviewed.

** In addition to a Zoning Permit, commercial property owners need to apply for a Business Commercial Occupancy Certificate under the following circumstances

  • Change of use
  • Change of tenant
  • Change of ownership
